Enjoy 35 Private Acres

Cajun Lake is meant to be explored. Walk the trails, wander around the lakes, head down to Jones Creek, find a quiet place under the trees, or simply take your food and drink outside and enjoy the property.

During events, guests can move beyond the Lodge or Clubhouse and enjoy the surrounding grounds. Grab a drink, stroll the trails, sit by the water, play a lawn game, or spend time around the property with friends. With 35 private acres, there’s plenty of room to spread out.

Fishing

Bring a rod and spend some time by the water. The lakes have bass, brim, catfish, and other fish from years of stocking. Catch-and-release fishing is available throughout the property.

Walking, Hiking & Running

Nature trails wind around the lakes and through the property, giving you plenty of places to walk, hike, or run at your own pace. You can also bring a bike and ride portions of the property.

Jones Creek

Jones Creek runs along the edge of the property and gives guests another place to explore. Wade in the moving water, sit along the creek, or follow it as you wander the grounds.

Swimming

Cool off in our largest lake and enjoy a swim surrounded by the quiet of the property. It’s an easy way to spend a warm afternoon, especially when your group wants a break from the event or lodging spaces. Swim, relax by the water, or simply find a spot along the shoreline and enjoy the view.

Kayaking

Bring your own kayak and explore the lakes at your own pace. Paddle around the property, take in the scenery, or spend a little quiet time out on the water. Cajun Lake does not provide kayaks, so guests should bring their own equipment.

Food & Drinks Around the Property

You don’t have to stay planted at a table. Take your food and drink outside, walk the grounds, sit by the lake, relax on the porch, or find your own spot around the property. During private events, guests can move between indoor and outdoor areas throughout the gathering.

Games & Recreation at The Lodge

The Lodge gives overnight guests plenty of ways to spend time together without leaving the house.

Games & Recreation at The Clubhouse

The Clubhouse has more of a social, sports-bar feel, with space to watch the game, move around, and spend time indoors or outside.

Guests can move between the Clubhouse, covered porch, and surrounding grounds throughout the event.

Private Dock at the Cabin

Guests staying at the Ragin’ Cajun Cabin have direct lakefront access and a private dock. Fish from the dock, sit by the water, or simply enjoy the view right outside the cabin.

Wildlife Watching

Keep your eyes open while you explore. Cajun Lake is home to a wide variety of wildlife, and you never quite know what you’ll see during your stay.
Deer, wild turkeys, groundhogs, owls, and many other birds and animals regularly move through the property. One resident is especially important to us: an American bald eagle that has built a massive nest in one of the trees on the property.

That eagle became part of the inspiration for the Cajun Lake logo and has become a familiar part of the landscape here. Guests have spotted bald eagles flying over the lakes, perched in the trees, and moving through the property while they fish, walk the trails, or relax outside.

For guests who enjoy nature, photography, or simply slowing down and paying attention to what’s around them, wildlife watching can easily become one of the most memorable parts of a visit to Cajun Lake.

Fire Pits & Outdoor Gathering

Spend the evening around a fire, enjoy a drink outside, or gather with your group after the day winds down.
The Lodge and Cabin both offer outdoor spaces for relaxing and spending time together, while the Clubhouse gives guests additional indoor and outdoor areas to move between during an event.

Bouncy House

Golf Nearby

Cajun Lake makes a great home base for a golf weekend in Middle Tennessee. Nearby courses include Montgomery Bell State Park Golf Course and Greystone Golf Club. Spend the day on the course, then come back to the Lodge or Cabin to relax, cook, have a drink, and enjoy the property with your group.

Downtown Dickson

Downtown Dickson is just a few minutes away, giving you easy access to restaurants, coffee, shopping, and local businesses. You can spend part of the day exploring town, then head back to the quiet of Cajun Lake when you’re ready.

Nearby Dining

There are plenty of restaurants nearby if you don’t feel like cooking during your stay. You can also arrange catering from our sister business, Bayou Belle Cajun Restaurant, for gatherings, retreats, and stays at Cajun Lake.

Montgomery Bell State Park

Montgomery Bell State Park is nearby and offers even more ways to spend time outdoors, including hiking, golf, water activities, and scenic areas to explore.

Spend the evening around a fire, enjoy a drink outside, or gather with your group after the day winds down. Adventureworks is about 20 minutes away and offers ziplining and other outdoor activities for guests looking for something more adventurous.

River Canoeing & Kayaking Nearby

The Harpeth River and nearby outfitters offer additional canoeing and kayaking opportunities within a short drive.

Want to venture a little farther? Nashville, Clarksville, and Columbia are all about 45 minutes away, giving you even more options for dining, shopping, music, entertainment, and day trips during your stay.
