MIDDLE TENNESSEE VENUES & LODGING
ABOUT US
A one-of-a-kind place to gather, stay, and celebrate just outside Dickson, Tennessee.
FROM TWIN LAKES TO CAJUN LAKE
Long before Cajun Lake became an event venue and lodging destination, the property was a working catfish farm owned by the Duke family.
Known locally as Twin Lakes, it was a familiar place for generations of Dickson County families. People came to fish, paid for their catch by the pound, and could even have the fish cleaned before taking dinner home. Some of those catfish also made their way to nearby Catfish Kitchen.
Pieces of that history are still part of the property today. Around the grounds, you can still find old catfish nets, signs, scales, and farm tools that connect Cajun Lake to its earlier days.
A LITTLE CAJUN FLAIR
Years later, Paula Eleazar and her family purchased the property. Paula grew up in Southwestern Louisiana, where gathering around food, family, music, and good company was simply part of life.
The setting felt familiar. Lakes, fishing, local families, and people coming together all fit naturally with her Cajun roots. That’s how Twin Lakes became Cajun Lake.
Over time, the family began restoring and improving the property while keeping much of its original character. The four-bedroom Lodge was once the farmhouse. The Clubhouse was where much of the catfish operation took place. The lakefront cabin was added later to make the most of the water, fishing, and views.
